Fight! For what!?!?

Well, it seems as if we will end 2008 in war. War between the Israeli's and the Arabs in the Gaza Strip.

I don't even know where to begin with all of this mess. But, one thing is for sure, it probably won't end here.

I think we need to get rid of all of the old Israeli politicians like Ehud Barack, Netanyahu, Peres and politicians of their generation and like thinking. They need to go, because I feel they manipulate the tensions to their own need.

While Hamas is in no way honourable, but really, can they control the militants anymore than the US control immigration?

Come on.....

I find it odd, however, a few weeks after current president Olmert, called the attacks on Arab's in Gaza and the West Bank "pogrom's", that we have now full scale attacks by the Israeli forces on Hamas and the Gaza Strip.

The comparison between Hamas militants and illegal immigrants is weak. The U.S. government doesn't want to get rid of them. They provide cheap sources of labor and keep social security solvent. Very, very few of them are criminals and, of those who are, even fewer are violent criminals. However, if they were shooting rockets into Canada you can bet the U.S. government would put a stop to it pretty quick.

Hi RHM,

Thank you for stopping by.

The analogy is not about the root causes of the current state of affairs in both areas and their strict relationship to the problem. However, it is in the relationship between the pervasiveness and what makes the situations and their futile efforts through exclusion and war, more and more futile indeed!

For example, the US can't and does not have the will to enforce stricter border security--even if it tried and they have been trying. The only they possible to stop immigration, with the massive immigrant friendly population in the US, is to either 1. Annex LATAM and the Caribbean and or 2. Get rid of all of the immigrant friendly people in the USofA--which there has to be millions of them.

American, could not stop illegal immigration, just as no other country can if they even really wanted to--even with genocide, you are going to have pockets of resistance. Virtually impossible for the USofA now. Just as getting rid of or, obliterating Hamas--which is an extension of the Arab culture and people--is to Israel.

As with US immigrants, immigrant friendly people in the US (some of them, and, many of them, family and friends of prospective illegal immigrants) and Hamas Arabs in relation to Israel, they all have one thing in common; a shared feeling of interest and prosperity in the countries they would want to reside in and how much they are willing to sacrifice for it.

There must be a better solution to work with each other.
