The standoff is over. The Indian authorities have one of the terrorists in custody. The rest are assumed dead. 5 Americans were killed in the disaster, including a Rabbi from New York and a father and daughter- the father who was the Vice President of the Synchronicity society, a meditation organization on pilgrimage to India.
India has of course pointed the finger to Pakistan. Reports have it that the last time this group, the LET and, the Deccan Mujahedeen, are both responsible.
Reports are still sketchy to exactly the extent to which these attacks are coordinated and which parts by whom.

It is not new that India blamed Pakistan for this heinous crime. Its an old habit of India to blame Pakistan for any thing happens in India. Actually Indian government is covering up her failures by pointing finger at Pakistan. It is not the job of Pakistan to provide security services to India because Pakistan is also struggling with similar situation in and outside the country. Pakistan had many bomb blasts and deadly attacks in the past but the government of Pakistan never blamed India for her weeknesses. I think the Indian governement should grow up and stop blaming Pakistan for her failues and stand up to provide security to the people of India. India claims that she is a supper power of the region and my question is how come that super power could not prevent this attack.
Hi Anon,
Excellent points. It seems as if folks were in fact too ready to blame Pakistan for the attacks. While it may be true that Pakistani militants may have been behind it, or, played a significant role in the attacks, just because they are/were, does not neglect the issue of India providing security for Indian's.
I do know that militants attack Pakistan as well. They killed Bhutto and have done worse in the past.
We have to keep in mind as well that the new Pakistani government actually wants to root out the terrorists in his country. Invading Pakistan, at this time, would set Pakistan and the efforts on the war on terror, back, at least, to the pre-Iraq invasion. Perhaps not pre-9-11, but be a significant stumbling block.
Thank you for posting.
